WHAT IS HOME STAY + TRAINING?

 

Home Stay + Training combines a comprehensive training schedule and in-house boarding with trainer Anthea Holmes. It is for a minimum 12-day stay where the trainer provides quality care with the added benefit of your dog learning polite house manners and good obedience skills.

 

WHY HOME STAY + TRAINING?

This service is perfect for those who have time constraints and want to start training with quick results. If you are planning a holiday, our Home Stay + Training is also a wonderful alternative to a boarding kennel especially if you are currently training a puppy or juvenile dog in need of consistency. If left with an inexperienced friend or family member unfamiliar with correct training techniques, you may find that upon returning from holidays, all your hard work may be undone, and undesirable behaviours may occur. At Home Stay + Training, you can rest assured that your beloved pet will be safe, secure and learning good behaviour with the help of our Gold Coast Dog Training team.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM INCLUDE?

​

• A minimum 12 day stay (longer stays are available if required)

• ​A hand over private lesson (this is essential) approx. 2-3hr lesson​

• An instructional DVD of your dog's training​

​

 

WHAT TRAINING IS COVERED AT HOME STAY + TRAINING?

​

• ​Crate Training (Toilet training if required)

• Focus (having your dog give you better focus)

• Loose Lead relaxed walking

• Heel

• Sit

• Drop/Down

• Reliable Stay

• ​Come when called

• Mat Training

• "Wait" command (at doors, for food), calm greeting (no jumping on people or furniture)

• Where appropriate the dog is taken out for walks in public and taken to group class.

​If you have something specific in mind (for example; teaching them to jump in the car by themselves, walk up and down stairs or walk next to a pram) realistic training goals will always be discussed.

TO NOTE:

 

Whilst this is a fantastic option to fast track your dog's training, your dedication to implementing our teachings once home is imperative to the success and maintenance of their good behaviour. Failure to do so can result in undoing the work put in and thus wasting your investment. At the all important "hand-over" our Trainer will ensure that you have the confidence to carry on and maintain your dog's new skills and we also offer ongoing support.
